Light plane crash critically injures NSW pilot

A pilot was seriously injured after crashing his light aircraft in Sydney’s southwest on Friday afternoon.

Emergency services said the aircraft crashed in Bankstown about 3.40pm.

The pilot was freed from the wreckage and flown to Liverpool Hospital in critical condition.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau is investigating the incident.
