NSW electricity distributor Essential Energy has announced winners of its 2023 Electricity Safety Week competition, recognising young safety champions from across the community.

More than 800 students from over 850 schools took part in the annual contest, submitting entries designed to build awareness around power line hazards and electrical safety at home.

A Tough Field of Entries

"It was a tough decision with so many creative and inspiring entries across the three categories - Be a Safety Star colouring-in, Be a Safety Star poster and Safety Week Superhero comic competitions," Essential Energy said.

Among the standout entries, Winner – Adhiraj, Condobolin Public School, impressed judges with a vivid depiction of electrical safety at home, while Safety Champions Charlie and Keira produced entries that captured the spirit of the competition through colourful, imaginative designs.
