2024 Farm Safety Calendar Competition Winners Announced

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) has recently announced the winners of the 2024 Farm Safety Calendar competition. More than 1400 kids participated in this year's competition, submitting artwork focused on farming hazards and safe practices.

The 12 winners include a grade 5 student from Sunnybank Hills State School, Leo Park, whose artwork on animal safety will feature in the 2024 Farm Safety Calendar.

Spreading a Safety Message Across Queensland

Minister for Industrial Relations Grace Grace said, "This competition is always a highlight on the calendar."

"Not only does it educate young Queenslanders on the very real safety risks associated with farming, but it provides a way to spread the safety message right across the state," she added. The initiative continues to strengthen ties between farming families, local schools and the broader rural community, helping younger generations understand real hazards long before they enter the workforce.

Prizes for Students and Schools

The winners will each receive $250, along with another $500 awarded to their respective school. This recognition rewards creativity while reinforcing practical health and safety lessons that extend well beyond the classroom.
