WorkSafe NZ helps Napier business comply with COVID-19 Protection Framework

A New Zealand business has assured WorkSafe it will comply with the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic light system) after concerns were raised with the safety watchdog.

The business was accused of allowing unvaccinated individuals to attend some of its events.

WorkSafe said it helped the business meet its health and safety obligations under the COVID-19 Protection Framework. The owners of the business were educated on their requirements under the traffic light system.

"The business now understands they fall under event rules and have reassured WorkSafe that they'll work within these requirements," a spokesperson said.

"This is another example of many we have in the past eight weeks where a business isn't wilfully trying to break the rules, they just don't have a full understanding of them, and we've stepped in and helped guide them to where they need to be.

The COVID-19 Protection Framework was introduced on 3 Dec 2021. It provides protection from COVID-19 through 3 settings - Green, Orange and Red.
