An explosion at a Melbourne factory on Monday afternoon left a man with burn injuries.

At around midday, fire crews were sent to a factory in Derrimut following a triple-0 call reporting a chemical blast.

According to Fire Rescue Victoria, a worker was located at the site with burn injuries after a product flash triggered a small fire and generated a considerable amount of smoke in the premises.
