Teen dies after quad bike crash in Tasmania's north-west

A teenage boy has been killed and a female pillion passenger seriously injured following a quad bike crash in Tasmania.

The pair were taken to North West Regional Hospital in critical conditions after the Saturday afternoon incident in Oldina.

Police confirmed on Sunday the 16-year-old boy had succumbed to his injuries.

The girl remained in hospital in stable condition Sunday morning.
