SafeWork SA warns tradies about asbestos dangers

SafeWork SA calls on tradies and home renovators to beware of asbestos this month.

Asbestos was banned in Australia two decades ago. Australia will mark the 20^th anniversary of the ban during National Asbestos Awareness Week 2023 from 20-26 November.

This year’s campaign is themed “Think Twice About Asbestos”.

Statistics indicate every year around 4000 people die from asbestos related diseases in Australia.

As part of this year’s campaign, SafeWork SA will present a one-hour interactive forum on asbestos management on Monday 20 November from 1pm.
