Road worker struck by vehicle on New Zealand highway

A traffic controller was transported to hospital after being hit by a vehicle on a New Zealand highway on Friday.

The traffic controller was struck while attempting to stop the motorist after he reportedly ignored a road closure sign.

Many roads remain closed after a severe storm swept New Zealand's North Island last week.
