Quad bike danger persists

Quad bike crashes are major causes of deaths and serious injuries on Australian farms.

So far this year, five Australians have been killed by quad bikes, including an 82-year-old woman, latest data from Safe Work Australia indicates.

Of the five fatalities, three were in Western Australia, while New South Wales and Tasmania had each one fatality. Three of the fatalities were workers, according to Safe Work Australia.

On average, 15 people are killed in quad bike incidents every year, and many more are injured.
