Perth man rescued after becoming trapped in hole

Firefighters came to the aid of a man who had been stuck in a hole for over three hours at a property in Perth, managing to rescue him.

Emergency services responded to a call at a property in Hillarys around 3pm on Tuesday, where they found a man trapped approximately 3 metres deep in a hole in the backyard.

Reports indicated the man in his 40s had been excavating the hole for several days in an attempt to locate the main sewer pipe.

Following his rescue, the man was transported to hospital for treatment.
