NSW Resources Regulator publishes investigation information release on November 2020 crush incident

The NSW Resources Regulator has published an investigation information release on an incident on 30 November 2020 in which a worker sustained injuries when he was trapped in a crush point underneath a loader cab at Attunga Limestone Mine, near Tamworth.

A detailed report on what transpired during that incident is included in the release. The Resources Regulator reminded mine operators and contractors of their responsibility to identify hazards and manage risks to health and safety in accordance with the provisions of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 and Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act 2013 and regulations.

Workers and contractors are also reminded to never place a body part in a crush point under a suspended load without any secondary support devices.
