NSW Resources Regulator publishes Fact Sheet on safeguarding workers from respirable crystalline silica exposure

The NSW Resources Regulator has published a fact sheet focused on the prevention of worker exposure to respirable crystalline silica.

According to the Resources Regulator, amendments to the Work Health and Safety Regulation 2017 have been implemented to further mitigate, as much as ‘reasonably practicable,’ the exposure of workers to respirable crystalline silica.

The Regulator also notes that these changes are particularly important for tier 3 quarries, which are now required to adhere to specific guidelines to guarantee safety.

This fact sheet outlines the necessary actions that tier 3 quarries must undertake to adhere to the crystalline silica Work Health and Safety Regulation.
