The NSW Government has commenced a 12-month Farm Safety Training Program, facilitated by SafeWork NSW, to advance WHS outcomes for farm workers.

The State Government said approximately 1,000 agricultural and farming sector workers will participate in a pilot of the Farm Safety Training Program, which aims to enhance their understanding of Work Health Safety (WHS) and promote safer practices on farms.

After finishing the training, participants will be awarded a certificate of completion that can be presented to employers as proof of their knowledge and grasp of farm safety.

According to the Government, the findings from the pilot program will assist SafeWork NSW in determining the practicality of introducing a safety card tailored for the agriculture industry workforce.
