New compliance priorities aim to improve safety in NSW mines

The NSW Resources Regulator has rolled out an extensive compliance campaign for the latter part of 2024, to ensure the safety and sustainability of the mining sector throughout the state.

Key compliance focuses from July to December 2024 include ‘risk management and supervision in open cut coal mines, mobile plant work platform attachments and safety management systems for Tier 2 quarries,’ among other areas.

The Regulator outlines its main focuses and proactive assessment initiatives every half year to promote cooperation between inspectors and industry.

“The compliance priorities aim to ensure a safe and sustainable mining, extractive and petroleum industry in NSW,” states the regulator.
