Information release published after two NSW mine workers sustained injuries during pipe installation work

The NSW Resources Regulator has published an investigation information release after two mine workers suffered serious injuries while installing pipes at a mine site near Morisset last month.

It happened on 17 May when high-pressure air unexpectedly escaped from an air pipe close to where the two were working.

The Resources Regulator deployed investigators to the site and commenced an investigation. The investigation is still in its early stages.

The Regulator said this information has been released to draw attention to the occurrence of a serious incident in the mining industry, adding that more information may be released as it becomes available.
