Fatal occupational injuries: Safe Work Australia releases last update for 2023

Safe Work Australia has published the last workplace fatality data update for 2023.

The data includes work-related deaths recorded from 1 January 2023 to 7 December 2023.

The latest figures published by the safety authority show a total of 147 Australian workers have died in workplace incidents.

Of the 147 fatalities, 44 were in Transport, postal and warehousing workplaces, 29 in the Construction industry, while 22 fatal incidents occurred in Agriculture forestry and fishing industry.

Safe Work Australia said the next update will be published on 19 January 2024.
