Fall from roof prompts SafeWork SA safety warning

SafeWork SA warns workers about the risk of falls when working on roofs after an apprentice electrician suffered broken ribs when he fell from a roof.

The apprentice fell 3 metres and landed on a boundary fence during the incident in December 2022.

SafeWork SA says that falls from height are the leading cause of notifiable serious injury in the construction industry.

SafeWork SA acting Executive Director Dini Soulio said the law requires an employer to protect workers from falling from height.
