Excavator operator rescued after tree falls and traps him

A man has been rescued after becoming trapped in an excavator when a tree fell on the machine.

A large tree fell on the cabin of the excavator while the man was clearing land on Saturday afternoon.

He was freed by Queensland fire and emergency services personnel.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter flew to the Bundaberg region around 3.30 pm to treat the injured man.

The man in his 60s suffered multiple injuries during the incident.

The rescue chopper transported him to a Brisbane hospital for treatment.
