Excavator operator flown to hospital after breaking leg

An elderly man was transported to hospital by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter following a serious leg injury sustained while using an excavator in south-east Queensland.

The incident took place when a tree branch fell on him during his work on Friday afternoon.

The man in his 80s received medical attention from the aeromedical team and Queensland ambulance paramedics before being airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
