155 Australian workers died on the job in 2021
Latest statistics from Safe Work Australia show 155 Australian workers were killed at work in 2021, with the Transport, postal and warehousing industry recording the highest number of workplace deaths. The transport, postal and warehousing industry recorded 52 fatalities followed by Agriculture, forestry and fishing with 35 fatalities. The Construction industry, with 21 fatalities, came third.
The figures show the Manufacturing industry lost 13 workers, Mining 7 and Arts and recreation services 5 workers.
In 2020, 194 Australian workers were killed at work, according to Safe Work Australia.
