More than 70 Australian workers died on the job in first six months of 2023

Latest Safe Work Australia data indicates 78 Australian workers died on the job in the first six months of this year, with 26 of the fatalities occurring in the Transport, postal & warehousing industry.

The figures show the Construction industry lost 16 workers, Agriculture, forestry & fishing 10 workers and Mining 7 workers.

The data reveals there were four fatal incidents in the Manufacturing industry in the first half of 2023. The Arts & recreation services industry recorded 4 fatalities while Electricity, gas, water & waste services saw 3 fatalities.
