WorkSafe VIC releases prosecution data for 2022

WorkSafe Victoria reminds employers to prioritise safety in the workplace after 123 companies and directors were fined for violating workplace safety laws in 2022.

According to figures released by the safety watchdog, 14 companies were handed six figure fines for violations of the OHS Act in 2022.

Victorian employers were fined a total of $5,588,750 for workplace safety breaches during the same period.

The figures reveal that 35 companies were fined for working at height safety breaches, 23 for machine guarding issues, 18 for failing to provide safe machinery and 11 for forklifts.
