WorkSafe NZ appoints new CEO

The Board Chair of WorkSafe New Zealand, Jennifer Kerr, has recently revealed the appointment of Sharon Thompson as the Chief Executive of WorkSafe.

The Board Chair says Sharon has a lot of experience in both public and private sectors, where she has led business transformation programs and created motivated teams to tackle difficulties and achieve outcomes.

“Sharon is well placed to drive the delivery of WorkSafe’s new strategy and operating plan, which sets out how we will undertake our role as Aotearoa New Zealand’s primary work health and safety regulator,” says Jennifer Kerr.

Jennifer Kerr said that Steve Haszard, the interim Chief Executive, has finished the key responsibilities assigned to him by the Board.
