A woman was flown to hospital following a horse trampling incident in South East Queensland on Friday afternoon.

The RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter was called to the Sunshine Coast region at about 1pm after reports came through that a woman had been trampled by a horse.

Working alongside ambulance paramedics, the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue crew provided immediate medical assistance to the injured woman at the scene.

The woman, in her 40s, was later airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital suffering chest injuries. Her current condition has not been publicly confirmed.
