Victorian concrete company faces charges after fatal safety breach

WorkSafe has filed charges against a concrete company after a worker died at a Melbourne construction site two years ago.

The man died after the concrete boom pump he was operating fell on him in May 2021.

WorkSafe accuses the company of violating sections of the OHS Act by failing to provide plant that was safe.

The safety agency alleges the company failed to ensure the machine was in good working condition.

The filing hearing will be at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 1 June 2023.
