Vic farmer suffers fatal injuries after being hit by shed roof

A farmer has been killed after being hit by a shed roof that had been dislodged by strong winds in South Gippsland.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at about 6pm while the 50-year-old man was herding cattle on a quad bike.

WorkSafe has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause.

The man’s death marks the second confirmed work-related fatality for 2024, with nine occupational deaths recorded at the same time last year.
