VIC company to front court over alleged workplace bullying

A heating and cooling company is due to face court over alleged bullying of an apprentice by fellow workers.

The apprentice was allegedly bullied at work between July 2022 and March 2023.

WorkSafe Victoria has charged the Ballarat based company with breaching section 21(2) (a) of the OHS Act by failing to provide a safe working environment.

The safety regulator alleges the company contravened section 21(2) (a) of the same Act by failing to ‘provide and maintain systems of work for identifying, reporting, investigating and stopping inappropriate workplace behaviour, including workplace bullying.’

The parties will appear in court for a mention hearing early next year.
