Two people suffer serious injuries in quad bike incident near Gympie

Two people sustained serious injuries in a quad bike incident near Gympie on Sunday afternoon.

A male in his 50s and a female in her 60s were riding a quad bike in Woolooga when they tumbled 2 metres down a slope into a stream bed at around 5:30pm.

Paramedics provided initial treatment on-site before transferring them to an open area for helicopter rescue access.

The woman was in a critical condition when she was airlifted to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, with multiple injuries.

The man was conveyed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition after sustaining injuries to his head and chest.
