Tree feller killed by falling tree at Waikato farm

A person has passed away after being hit by a tree on a farm in Waikato.

Police said emergency crews were alerted to the farm located in the rural region of Kopaki at 1:40 PM on Saturday afternoon.

Preliminary police investigations suggested the person was in the process of felling the tree when it collapsed and struck them.

Police said WorkSafe is aware of the incident.
