Ten-year-old girl seriously injured after crashing quad bike into tree in Queensland

A 10-year-old girl sustained serious injuries after a quad bike collided with a tree on a property in northern Queensland.

The girl sustained injuries to her neck, chest, and stomach during the incident in Llanarth, west of Mackay, around 6pm on Tuesday.

Another girl on the quad bike sustained an ankle injury.

The girls were attended to by paramedics and crew members from the RACQ CQ Rescue helicopter on site.

Both individuals were transported to Townsville Hospital in stable condition via helicopter.
