Teenager flown to hospital after rolling ATV in south-east Queensland

OHS Daily News

A teenager was airlifted to a hospital by the LifeFlight rescue chopper following a rollover incident involving an ATV in Queensland.

It is understood the male teenager was operating the ATV on a private property in the South Burnett region when he lost control, resulting in the vehicle rolling over.

Queensland Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment at the scene before transporting the patient to the LifeFlight helicopter, which was dispatched at 1:30 pm and landed at a nearby cricket oval.

The LifeFlight crew, along with a QAS flight paramedic, attended to the boy, who sustained a broken arm and is suspected to have head and pelvic injuries.

He was later flown to the Queensland Children’s Hospital for further treatment.
