SafeWork to concentrate on adherence to safety regulations at Sydney Easter Show

SafeWork NSW says it is actively working with organisers of the Sydney Royal Easter Show to secure safety of an estimated 800,000 visitors. Engineers have conducted audits on specific high-risk amusement rides to help ensure adherence to Work Health and Safety Regulations, in accordance with the National Audit Tool. Each ride must pass assessment under current conditions before being cleared for public use. Operators are mandated to perform comprehensive inspections, maintenance, and safety assessments prior to operation of any attraction.

Trent Curtin, Head of SafeWork NSW, emphasised the importance of safety at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

"Safety at the Sydney Royal Easter Show is non-negotiable, all workers and operators must follow strict safety standards to protect themselves and the public," he said.

"We have had a strong presence since 24 March, working to ensure operators understand their safety responsibilities and have the right processes in place to protect workers and visitors throughout the event."
