Safe Work Australia requesting input on ways to enhance the safety of welding operations

Safe Work Australia is seeking feedback on possible measures to enhance the regulation of welding processes to improve the safety of workers and others from hazards associated with welding.

The proposed changes focus on defining the duties and obligations related to welding practices, which will support greater safety for welders and others present in the work setting.

Safe Work Australia has released a consultation document that details the suggested regulatory and non-regulatory methods, the concerns expressed by stakeholders regarding the existing framework, and the reasons for the proposed changes.

Data collected during the process will be reviewed by Safe Work Australia Members.
