Rider suffers injuries after falling from horse in south-east Queensland

A man sustained severe injuries after falling from his horse at Widgee on Sunday afternoon.

Emergency crews were sent to the scene shortly after 1:15pm following reports of a horse riding incident.

The man sustained critical injuries to his head and spine.

He was rushed to Gympie Hospital by ambulance paramedics.
