Ride-on lawnmower operators urged to put safety first to prevent injuries

SafeWork South Australia reminds workers to observe all rules for operating ride-on lawnmowers after a worker was fatally injured when his ride-on lawnmower tipped over in October 2022.

"Slopes, drop-offs, ditches, embankments and edges are major factors related to loss-of-control and tip-over incidents, which can result in severe injury or death," SafeWork SA said.

According to SafeWork SA, ride-on lawnmower operators must be adequately trained to operate the machine safely. They must also ensure the machine is serviced regularly.

Further information can be accessed on the SafeWork SA website.
