Regulator releases more details about fatal mining incident
Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) has released a safety notice following a fatal mining incident in central Queensland on Monday.
The regulator said the worker was fatally crushed between the ‘tray of a moving light vehicle and the bull bar of a stationary B-double truck.’
Initial investigations indicate the light vehicle was being set up to tow a bogged B-double when it reversed onto the worker.
Resources Safety and Health Queensland (RSHQ) said, “We issue Safety Notices to draw attention to the occurrence of a serious incident, raise awareness of risks, and prompt assessment of your existing controls.”
Investigations are continuing.
