Queensland boy flown to hospital following incident with machinery

OHS Daily News

A teenage boy was flown to hospital by a LifeFlight rescue chopper after he sustained a foot injury while using a dozer in South East Queensland.

The incident happened on Tuesday afternoon.

The aeromedical team received a call shortly after 5pm to respond to a rural property in the Somerset region and arrived after sunset.

It is suspected that the boy was using the dozer when he leaped off and got his foot caught on an attachment, resulting in a serious injury.

The patient was attended to by paramedics at the scene prior to being transferred onto the helicopter by the LifeFlight aeromedical team.

He was airlifted to Sunshine Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
