Quad bike fatality on WA farm prompts WorkSafe investigation
Western Australia’s safety regulator has launched an investigation following the death of a quad bike rider on a farm in the Wheatbelt region last week.
The 22 year-old woman was fatally injured after rolling her quad bike while mustering cattle on Wednesday.
Acting WorkSafe Commissioner Sally North expressed shock over the incident.
“The recent Independent Inquiry into Safety in the Agricultural Industry found that between 2017/18 and 2021/22, five workers died on WA farms in incidents involving quad bikes,” Ms North said.
