NSW seeks feedback on new demolition licensing regulations

The NSW Government is seeking feedback from stakeholders on improvements to the licensing scheme for demolition.

The demolition licensing regulation will change from the repealed OHS Regulation 2001 (NSW) Act to the WHS Regulation 2017 (NSW) Act.

NSW Fair Trading Minister Eleni Petinos said, “This change will inject much needed clarity into what rules demolition license holders need to abide by.”

“The proposed regulations also increase the license duration from two years to five years for new applications and renewals, as well as ensuring that all demolition workers are appropriately trained,” Ms Petinos said.

The public consultation will close on Monday, 2 May 2022 at 5pm.
