NSW Resources Regulator implementing measures to tackle psychosocial risks within the mining sector

OHS Daily News

The NSW Resources Regulator has established a new landing page on its website, designed to enhance public understanding of risks, facilitate the seeking of advice, provide information on reporting procedures, and offer access to guidance materials concerning psychosocial hazards.

“Psychosocial hazards extend beyond bullying and harassment and may include sexual assault, physical assault or psychological abuse,” the regulator stated.

The regulatory agency underscores the importance for mine operators and workers to understand that both psychosocial and physical harassment, along with sexual assault, are serious violations of acceptable workplace conduct.
