NSW mine worker seriously injured by drilling machine

An investigation is underway after a mine worker suffered serious injuries while working on a drilling machine in Central West New South Wales.

The NSW Resources Regulator has released a preliminary report following the incident on 19 June 2023.

The machine was being used in underground mining.

The Regulator said it will investigate the cause of the incident and “will explore the mine’s systems for changing drill components, operation and mechanical condition of the Jumbo drill rig, instructions, training, experience and supervision of workers and processes.”
