NSW company charged in fatal scaffolding collapse enters guilty plea

A NSW scaffolding company has pleaded guilty to work safety breaches that killed a worker and seriously injured another more than three years ago. The man died from injuries sustained in a scaffolding collapse at a construction site in April 2019.

The company entered the guilty plea to a category 1 offence under section 31 of the Work Health and Safety Act 2011 at the NSW District Court.

Minister for Fair Trading Eleni Petinos said this is a reminder that all operators must follow workplace safety laws.

The company will be sentenced later this year.
