Northern Territory announces inaugural Electrical Safety Week

The Northern Territory will hold its inaugural electrical safety week from 4 to 8 September 2023 to raise awareness about electrical safety.

NT WorkSafe Executive Director Peggy Cheong underscored the importance of the event saying electricity plays a critical role in modern society.

“We are surrounded by and use electricity every day, and as we have tragically seen over the past few years, electricity can cause serious injuries and death.”

“More recently we have seen an increase in property damage due to fires linked to issues with solar panel installations,” said Ms Cheong.
