Workplace health and safety watchdog, SafeWork SA, has recently initiated a campaign focused on slip and trip hazards to increase awareness on how to ensure the safety of South Australians at their workplaces.

The initiative, named ‘Safety at Work is a Serious job,’ features ‘Stanley the talking safety cone’ offering tips on how to prevent slips and trips, falls from heights and vehicle roll-aways.

According to SafeWork SA data, between 2022 and 2025, slips and trips led to five fatalities and over 190 severe injuries in workplaces in South Australia

Incidents of slips and trips frequently occur in sectors such as construction, healthcare, manufacturing, and transportation.

These incidents are recognised as one of the leading factors behind workplace injuries.
