New regulations set to bolster workplace safety standards in Queensland

The Queensland parliament has recently passed new laws to enhance worker protection and advocacy, further strengthening its commitment to ensuring the safety of workers.

According to the State Government, the recent legislation implements suggestions made in the Review of Queensland’s WHS Act 2011 and the national 2018 Review of the Model Work Health and Safety Law.

"The Miles Government has led the nation in keeping workers safe, and the passage of these laws is a continuation of our commitment, " Minister for Industrial Relations Grace Grace said.

“The Miles Government will never rest on its laurels when it comes to keeping Queensland workers safe, unlike the LNP who stripped workers of rights when in government and have consistently voted against our nation leading reforms while in opposition.”
