New dust disease clinic opens in Sydney

NSW government-owned insurer icare has recently opened a new Dust Diseases Care (DDC) Health Screening Clinic to offer lung health examinations to people who have been exposed to harmful workplace dust across the state.

The clinic at icare's Sydney headquarters will help with early detection of dust diseases, monitoring patients' response to treatment and educating workers.

Mr Richard Harding, CEO and Managing Director of icare said "The lung health examinations this state-of-the-art clinic will provide to people who've been exposed to hazardous dust are life-changing.

"Better case identification is the key to enabling early intervention which is critical to ensuring better health outcomes for workers exposed to dangerous dust."
