Inspection program focuses on Queensland construction sector
A state-wide compliance crackdown has been launched by Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) to mitigate the number of serious workplace incidents in Queensland's high-risk construction sector.
WHSQ officials will focus on construction sites throughout Queensland from July to September 2024.
According to WHSQ, the enforcement campaign will have a phase focused on raising awareness, during which WHSQ will offer Queensland construction companies resources and information to help them comply with WHS laws.
WHSQ says after that stage, WHS inspectors will evaluate whether workplaces adhere to the work health and safety regulations and implement appropriate enforcement measures upon identifying non-compliance.
