Girl hospitalised after falling off quad bike in South East Queensland

A young girl has been airlifted to hospital following an incident involving a quad bike.

Reports indicate she was riding as a passenger on the quad bike, operated by a friend on private property in the Gympie region on Sunday night.

It is believed that she fell from the vehicle, causing the rear wheel to roll over her chest.

She was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital by the Lifeflight rescue chopper at about 7.30pm.
