Forty-five Australian workers killed in 2024

Safe Work Australia has recently published updated work-related fatality data for 2024.

The latest data reveals that 45 Australian workers have died on the job this year.

Transport, postal and warehousing industry has recorded the highest number of deaths, with 19 fatalities. Following closely behind is the agriculture, forestry, and fishing industry, which has recorded 9 fatalities. In third place is the construction sector, with 6 work-related deaths.
