Firefighters sustain injuries while battling blaze in South Burnett

Two rural firies sustained burns while combating a grassfire in the South Burnett Region on Thursday afternoon.

A LifeFlight rescue helicopter transported a woman in her 60s to the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital due to several burns.

Another male volunteer received treatment for minor burns at Kingaroy Hospital and was subsequently discharged.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesperson said they will investigate the incident, adding that WorkSafe Queensland has been informed.
